"I am trying to extract audio from an avi/divx file with Virtual Dub 1.4.10 but get the following error. "The requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format. Check the sampling rate and channel count of the input match those of the required format." Can anyone give advice? I am new to this and am following directions of www.vcdhelp.com/divxtovcd.htm. Thanks." (posted by mistagord)

Your divx file may well contain AC3 audio. Search the forum for a solution as this problem has been encountered by many before you.

Ok, if your file does contain AC3 audio the solution is to use BeSweet to extract the AC3 and convert to stereo wav format. One of the gudes on this site covers this I believe.
