When do I want to use Video -> Full processing mode versus
Video -> Direct stream copy? Is full processing the choice if you have filters set up and are actually modifying the video and direct stream for when you have done nothing but edit out some frames? Thanks.

In answer to your second question, yes. That answers your first question.
VirtualDub's help describes what each processing mode actually does, but you've neatly summarized what they're good for. "Direct stream copy" for simple cutting and editing, "Full processing" for filtering and conversions.
