I'm using TMPGenc V2.0 and virtualdub to frameserve. I've done lots of these conversions in the past few months, but the last one I have done stopped after 25 mins with an "Illegal point operation" message. What does this mean? The avi file plays fine. The only difference is that I pushed the CBR up to 2220bps instead of about 2000bps. Is that the problem, or something else?

Let me guess, you are converting a divx file to SVCD when you get this error. This question seems to get asked daily. Try searching the forum and guides, you might be surprised!

No, I wasn't actually. It was a capture done with the huffyuv codec, like I have loads of times in the past. I can't see any difference in what I've done other than increase the mpeg2 bitrate for output. The capture dropped 9 frames over 1:04 hrs (as usual).
I will search the forums
Thanks
