  1. Hello, new here but I'm at my wits end trying to figure this out. Here's the scenario:

Currently my company has thousands of wmv files on one of our servers that we'd like to start offering to mobile/device users. What we'd like to do is convert them all server side into 4 different formats to cover a wide array of devices. We've been using ffmpeg to convert from wmv to mp4, however in order to stream video I understand we'll need to add hint tracks to all these videos, which from what I've read, ffmpeg does not support. So, my question is what would be the most painless, server side option to accomplish what we're trying to do here? Better yet, what would YOU do if presented with the same task? Remember, we're talking about 5,000+ wmv files ranging from everything as 1920x1080 to 960x540 to 320x240. I need something that can batch it all, or at least most of it, for streaming to mobile devices.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

P.S. The video formats we're trying to focus on are from this article: https://app.zencoder.com/docs/guides/encoding-settings/ios-and-mobile

The universal 1a, advanced 1a, legacy and legacy 3gp profiles.

I use mp4box (after converted with ffmpeg) to hint mp4s on my server, mp4box -hint video.mp4
