smartripper says files are locked wtf

With every dvd ive placed in my dvd drive when i start smart ripper it says files are still locked, although i can ignore this but when i try to do the rip absolutley nothing happens, whats wrong with it??????

As it states in most of the guides and many posts, you typically have to start playing the DVD with some player app BEFORE you begin your rip process.

nope still no joy in unlocking them even after its played (windvd)

I had one dvd do that. What I found was that it just wouldn't open on that particularly dvd rom. Fortunately, I had another computer with a dvd rom and was then able to rip it on that rom. Might try another rom if you can. BTW, when this happened to me, I tried about 5 different ripping programs all with the same result....it was the rom not the software.

ahh thanks grey hair, just tried on my (spare parts) dvd rom n it works
