  1. Hello everyone!

I do have a problem which I can't figure out myself...

    Computer:
    AMD 900 Mhz
    256 Mb Ram
    100Gb HD

When I capture from VCR it works just fine in 352*288 with YUY2.
maybe 15 framelosses in 30 minutes and everything looks normal afterwards.

But...I plugged in my videocamera and wanted to capture some of the vacation I had just now...something is not right. I haven't tried with the camera before, just the VCR.

The frameloss is unbelievable and Virtual Dub only captures 15 frames/second instead of 25 which I have clicked on.

I then capture from the VCR with the SAME settings and TADAA....not a single frameloss...

    What is wrong?

Is there a videocamera button to press to fix it? Please tell me that there is one!

Seems like your camera might be off.

Is it the same standard (ie PAL or NTSC) as the video player (I know it sounds like a dumb question, but I had to ask)?

Are you using the same connection (ie Composite / S-video)?

Have you tried adjusting the tracking on the camera?

If your camera has an inbuilt Time Base Correction function, turn it OFF (Unless it is already off, then try turning it on). I need to turn mine OFF to get a decent capture, but the problem is not the same as yours.

Try fast forward and rewind the tape. It may be too tightlt wound. Try a different tape...maybey the tape is stuffed.

Did you record the tape in some special mode (slow motion, sprorts mode etc.)? Maybe you need some feature turne on, or maybe the particular format is no good for capturing from.

That's all that came to mind in that 30 seconds.
    Hope it helps!
