I have just bought a new computer with Windows 10, and WMP doesn't have the right codecs for playing some of my video footage. I can play MPEG and MP4 but I can't play .mpg in 1440x1080. Also it would be nice to be able to play Uncompressed Microsoft AVI and look at TIFF pictures. I've looked at many sites but I can't wade my way through all the adverts and unwonted garbage.

Hi,
why don't you use some of the top players? Should be o.k. with them. Potplayer, VLC, MPC-BE? WMP is very limited.
Problem in this players can be to watch images, but it is not purpose of video players. You can try for this Xnview it is able to play some videos, but it is picture viewer and bit editor too.
