Hello Everyone, I am wondering that if I edit a MPEG movie and burning using VideoStudio or DVD Workshop as SVCD. Will these programs again compress them. Since I was reading this in VideoStudio 6 User Guide,
"MPEG capture from IEEE 1394 - Capture MPEG directly from your DV camcorder with the IEEE 1394 interface. Save a lot of hard disk space and skip the task of having to convert files to MPEG. A must for those who plan to output movies in VCD or DVD!"
Thanks for any help

Currently (unless someone else has figured a work around) the direct to MPG capture using DV only supports true VCD (1150 bitrate) and DVD. There is no template for capturing SVCD live.
The VCD and DVD are directly compatible with DVD Workshop with no further rendering.
