  2. jokerman, see the post a bit higher up the list made by doot.

He and I have the exact same problem. The common thread seems to be Windows XP.

I was about to go get another program to do my editting, but maybe it's time to reload with Win2K and give that a go.

  4. I'm using 2.5.3. I have 12a I think but haven't tried it yet.

Are your cuts precise? That is, when you pick a spot in the preview window, is that where it cuts the video for you? Mine are off by 30 seconds to several minutes, cutting MPEG2 files.

  5. I just posted to the other thread that I tried taking out my suspect cheap memory and got the same error message. I tried v2.5.3 and 12a and got the same message.

I now think it's an issue with WinXP on some systems. At least for me it still does the work, just gives me the message.

  6. I've had exactly the same problem. I've found that not only are the cuts extremely imprecise (off by several seconds), but when I cut, the audio cuts where i told it to, but the video keeps going for several seconds. I discovered this after I tried to merge 2 mpegs that each had this same error in cutting; the missing audio at the end of the first clip was filled in by the beginning audio from the second. Therefore, the total missing audio at the end of the merged clip was equal to the sum of the missing audio at the end of each seperate clip before merging.

  7. DVDcutter doesn't seem to support MPEG2, only MPEG1. Too bad.
