  2. I've been told here that most DVDs are of the 23.9 FPS Film standard. To rip and convert DVDs that are 29.7 to the Film standard, you check the Force Film box.

  3. Yes most NTSC DVDs of movies are encoded at 23.976 and then have rff and tff flags put on them so they can be displayed at the 29.97 framrate that NTSC televisions use. What force film does is remove the flags to let you encode at 23.97 therefore saving you 20% encoding time (23.97/29.97=80%). You can then run a 3:2 pulldown to put the flags back into your encode so it will display at 29.97 again. I hope I said this right,

  4. with some DVDs that are nearly or completely FILM, if you don't use forced film in dvd2avi, your encode will have horizontal lines
