I just bought a Samsung LN-T3253H LCD TV. My DVD player has a progressive out option and my TV has a Film Mode option. I assume they do the same thing (De-interlace), but I'm wondering what would be the better option. To let my TV do it or let the DVD player do it. Note that if the DVD-Player is set to Progressive Out, the Film option on the TV is grayed out as I assume it is detecting a Progressive source, thus the option isn't necessary.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Generally it's better to let the DVD player do it. Most DVDs are encoded with progressive frames. Normally the DVD player performs the 3:2 pulldown to create interlaced frames for standard definition TVs. Interlacing generates color artifacts and there is always the possibility that the TV won't perfectly inverse telecine the interlaced frames. Sending the picture to the TV while leaving it progressive avoids both these problems.
