    MKVToolNixGUI

The complaints about the changing of the GUI ended long ago, and we'd rather not hear about it again.

You are unbelievably behind the times. As in nearly a year and a half behind. Version 8.3.0 was the last version that included the mkvmerge GUI.

    * build system: removal: the switch »--without-mkvtoolnix-gui« has been removed. There are only two GUIs left in the package: the Qt-enabled mkvinfo and MKVToolNix GUI. Both are enabled by default and can be disabled with the option »--disable-qt«. In that case only the text-mode version of mkvinfo is built, and the MKVToolNix GUI is not built at all.
    * Removal: all support for wxWidgets has been removed. This means that the mkvmerge GUI (mmg) has been removed and that mkvinfo now only supports a text-mode and a Qt-based interface.
    * build system: bug fix: fixed Qt platform plugin detection on MacOS.

  5. zcool2016,
The new one takes a little getting used to, but it's much better than the old GUI. I don't know what shortcuts the installer installs as I always download the portable version, but the old GUI shortcut pointed to mmg.exe which no longer exists. The new version should have a shortcut pointing to mkvtoolnix-gui.exe. If it installed a shortcut labelled MKVToolNixGUI or something similar, that's the one you want.

The new GUI had a tab labelled "merge", but the name has changed to "multiplexer" now. Same thing, different name. If memory serves me correctly both mmg.exe and mkvtoolnix-gui.exe were installed during the transition to the new GUI, but it's just MKVToolNixGUI now.
