Hi,

I'm trying to burn a SVCD in Nero from a Divx (NTSCfilm) after converting it to mpeg with Tmpgenc.
I've tried different templates, SVCD PAL, SVCD NTSC(film), VCD PAL, VCD NTSC(film) and also the howto's on vcdhelp.com. After converting with Tmpgenc the resulting mpg-file is played well on my pc. After burning it on a CD-RW in Nero it gives the message that it has successfully burned the cd. But when I put the cd in my dvd/vcd/svcd/mp3-player (Yamakawa) the player recognizes the cd as SVCD and plays the movie but with many errors on the screen, many scrambled pixels and boxes which show up and dissapear randomly on the screen. Sometimes the audio also pauses for short moments randomly. The movie is visable but as I say with many many errors. It doesn't matter which template I choose: svcd pal, svcd ntsc film, the result is always the same as described (I also tried burning 1X speed).

Can someone explain this situation and does someone have a solution for it? I know my dvd-player can play svcd-movies on cd-rw because I copied a svcd from a friend on a cd-rw (same brand(Nashua)) and it plays perfectly without any errors.
I also tried to make an image-file of the mpeg and burn the image with Fireburner but again the result was the same.
What I didn't try is the 3:2 pulldown in Tmpgenc, as somebody mentioned in this forum some time ago. Is that necessary?
I'm living in europe so eventually I need a PAL SVCD, but most of my movies (including the one I'm testing every time) are in 23,9 fps (NTSC film). I also did take a look at the guide on converting NTSC to PAL, but it seems a lotta work and time to try for every movie.

Can somebody help me out here?

thanx in advance!

greetz,
