    Hey guys,

I got a Canon Legria HFR36 camcorder just over 3 years ago. I have been using it and editing and burning the videos onto DVD seamlessly for that entire period of time. However, earlier this month I went to do exactly what I have done many, many times over the years, and I went to burn my latest batch of home videos to DVD.

For the record, as always, I go to 'Disc Writing,' select my clips
    Disc type - AVCHD
    Do not combine files
    Enter disc title
Writing drive comes up correctly, as per usual, and the program advises me the number of discs required for the burning process.

All this is exactly as it has been previously. However, now I insert the disc and the 'Start' button, which you need to click to commence burning, just stays faded and "greyed" out - meaning you can't click on it to commence burning. I just cannot even try to figure out why this is happening. I even re-installed the entire program on another PC in the household. Did all the same steps, and same result. It has me so stumped.

Can anyone here please shed some light on this? Any suggestions at all? I appreciate it is a very basic program but for what I use it for it's perfect and basic and simple. And honestly, with 2 young babies, kind of essential to me. I'd appreciate any help.

Otherwise, worst case scenario; if I cannot get this program to work again, is there another free program available online that I could use? Unfortunately Videobrowser is only compatible with Windows. If there was a free program that I could install on my Macbook Pro that can upload, edit and burn videos from my Canon Legria HFR36, that would be pretty ideal.

    Thanks for any help.

    Cheers,

    Geoff

Did you use the same individual DVD each time? Maybe the DVD is defective.

If you used different DVDs, is this a newly opened package? If your DVD burners are older models, maybe they don't recognize the DVD media you used. Download ImgBurn and see if it can recognize the DVD.

Yeah, I thought it might be the DVD itself, so I did actually try a few different ones. Same thing every time. It is a brand new spindle of DVD-Rs, but a brand and type that I have used multiple times before, without issue. I will try the download you recommend though and see what results I get. Thanks!
