1: Are you positive what you're seeing is Chinese? I know I wouldn't have a clue if I saw it.
2: Chinese characters are 2 to 3 bytes long in UTF-8, Greek are 2 Bytes
3: Have you tried it using software players in your PC?
4: Did you make sure there was a BOM in the UTF-8 files?
5: what are you seeing exactly? Are ALL characters "Chinese" or just certain ones? -
All characters are Chinese, the bom how to find it in utf-8 files and do not know even know what is the BOM and also I have tried it on my computer and is perfect only on television I have problem before little I did integration with convertxtovideo take a while He looked but the subtitles normally the 2 bytes that we use;

If it plays in a software player but not on your TV then the problem must be with your TVs Matroska demuxer and not with the file.

So what you're saying is that there's a bug in MKVMerge, THE official Matroska muxer, and there's a bug in... (is it VLC or MPC-HC?) a player that in all probability has better Matroska support than any hardware or commercial software player available and that that bug magically lets the subtitles get displayed normally despite whatever the MKVMerge bug has done to them.
And your evidence of this is that your player can happily play subtitles from a completely different format?
