I had MKVToolnix 7.2.0 and used MMG GUI for muxing and demuxing. It worked fine but today I noticed it gave an error when trying to mux a MPEG2 video so it wouldn't let me mux it. I downloaded MKVToolnx 8.5.1 and that worked but it doesn't have MMG anymore and I have to use mkvtoolnix-gui but it takes up way too much screen space and it looks nasty.
That GUI only seems to be a muxer. Is there a GUI for demuxing somewhere as I can't find one?
What is the last version of MKVToolnix that has MMG?

Go back to MKToolnix 8.3.0 which is the last one before the complete switch over to the new GUI.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. But I'm curious does the current version of MKV Toolnix has a GUI for the command line demuxer?

Not yet, but the old mmg did not have one either. For a demuxing GUI you need to look for third party software like MkvCleaver or MkvExtractGUI2.

MKVToolNix is open source, if anyone was really all that fussed about MMG they could always take the initiative, start compiling their own version and keep it up to date themselves.
Of course they won't.
