  1. Hi Guys,

I have successfully ripped the DVD Movie using Smart Ripper and have been able to create *.d2v and wave files from the DVD2AVI But the TMPGEnc hangs up while converting it to Mpeg1 for vcd.

I tried doing the audio and video separate and I was successful in encoding the audio to *.mpa format to be multiplexed with the video file later on but the video encoding is never successful.

It starts off okay but hangs up the WinMe PIII 800MHz 384 MB Ram system after a while.

Please let me know if I am doing something wrong. I have been able to observe the vob files go up to 15% while encoding fine but loses the file once the system hangs up and have to reset.

Please let me know if there are any file size restrictions for TMPGEnc and WinMe for VOB files of 4GB or higher and if so what is the work around.

Also am I having any VFAPI plug in issues switching between one vob to the next in tmpenc.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  2. I'm new at this stuff too. I've ripped and burned 3 DVD to VCD so far using the same programs as you. The only thing I can think of is that you don't have all 3 programs plus the VFAPI plug in, installed in the same folder.

I think I remember reading somewhere about a 4gig limit on something but don't remember what it referred to.

Just my $.02, which is about right. Good luck figuring it out.

  3. Hi Guys,

Figured it out finally. The Vob files were simply too many for Tmpgenc to handle. I had to cut it in two parts and created two different *.d2v and wave files and then encoded and later joined the two mpegs.

This is the solution to anyone having problems with large dvd's simply split the task in two parts and create *.d2v for first few vob files and create a wave using dvd2avi and then create another project with the remaining vob files and success will be yours.

Many Thanks to the lone guy Trailryder who bothered replying to my issue and NO THANKS to all those who didn't reply.
