    When you d/l a srt of a movie or tv do you edit out the names of people who take credit for correcting and syncing them?I delete them since it's annoying watching an avatar type name scrolling across the screen,takes out the immersion of watching.

    Besides that i find i need to do further editing to correct all the mistakes they miss most of the time.

    You could always comment those credit lines/effects out.

    As for further editing... well, yeah. I'm too much of a perfectionist to let anything go without editing it a few dozen more times.

  3. SRT subs are plain text. You can edit them with Notepad. An example:

    Code:
    1
    00:00:01,714 --> 00:00:06,981
    I had talked with my wife
    on the phone just before her accident.

    2
    00:00:08,855 --> 00:00:10,823
    She died just after our quarrel.

    3
    00:00:12,825 --> 00:00:16,921
    That's why Satoru
    feels so bitter towards me.

    I use subtitle edit,i rather just nuke out the credit names since my sony blu-ray player displays any type of comments.

    I edit .srt files frequently using Notetab (any plain text editor will work). While I'm at it, I blank out subtitles I don't want to display (like "sync and correction by ...."). Not the number or time codes, just the text. As long as you make sure that there are 2 blank lines between the time codes and the next item number, the subtitle will be displayed, but since the line is empty, nothing shows up. Numbering isn't changed. The first empty line is the invisible subtitle, and the second empty line is the separator.

    This works on all my computers, on my Samsung and Sony bluray players, and on my Samsung TV.

    And, if someone puts an unwanted subtitle at the end, I just chop the whole thing.

    You can delete the time codes as well since there aren't needed since the lines are empty,with subtitle edit it will renumber the lines auto so any line you delete the numbers will be in order.
