I only have a burner installed on my computer so I can't do a disk copy. I want to do a copy of a VCD & after reading the "how to's" I thought I knew how to do it but it hasn't worked. I've extracted the dat file off the VCD & then converted it to mpg using VCDGEAR & then tried to burn it using VCD EASY but VCDEASY does not accept the MPG. Can any one tell me what I'm doing wrong or point me to the right place in the "how to's" because I've looked & have not been able to find much on dat files?

  2. You've probably seen this link: http://www.vcdhelp.com/faq.htm#cdcopy

I use Roxio's (Adaptec) CD Copier with a single CD drive. It allows you to copy to the hard drive first, and then prompts you to insert the blank disk when it's ready to burn. Most copying programs should have an option like this. Otherwise, you should be able to do the copy all within VCDEasy.
    1. Go to Tools / (S)VCD Build/Rip where there's a section called "VCDxRip"
    2. For "From:" select CD Writer (CD Reader should work too in your case.)
    3. Select "XML file" and select the filename and path where the files will be stored.
    4. For the 6 checkboxes, I'm not sure what all these do; but you should be OK if you just leave them all unselected.
    5. Now select "Rip" and it will create an .xml, .bin, and .toc. It will also rip the MPEG, but you won't need that because you have the CD image (bin and toc). This will take a while.
    6. Once this is complete go to CDRDAO Tools, select "CUE/TOC file"
    and pick the .toc file.
    7. Load the blank CD, and you should be ready to burn.
