  1. Okay, I downloaded a movie file off the net, and I can only see the video.. There is no audio.. When looking at the file properties, it shows the following audio info: Average Date: 24.00 Kb/s
    Sampling Rate: 48.00 kHz
    Channel: 2 (stereo)

So it appears the video file DOES have audio, it just won't play for some reason.. Is there a codec or something that I need??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Channel: 2 (stereo)

Also, listed under a different tab, it shows, "Audio format - Unknown format"

    Video
    -------------
    Frame width 640 pixels
    Frame height 352 pixels
    Play length 4505.630 secs
    Frame count 23.976 f/s

I'm just guessing here, but you might need the ogg-vorbis codec. Dunno where to get it from the top of my head, but if not here try google

Well the codec for video is Divx Mpeg 4 V3, its probably not using a standard audio codec, or its a MP3 or AC3

Well Load it into vdub 1.49, do a check for bad frames and save out another copy using video and audio streaming, if there is something wrong you should get some indication by now.

If the second save still don't work, then you may have a codec missing from your system that has been used in this file.

Start by installing "Nimo Codec pack" , this contains a lot of audio and video codec's and fixes most problems like this
