does a tool exist, which can convert a film over a lan, to use the cpu-times of more than 1 computer at the same time?

Hm... frankly I doubt there is one. I'm always sticking to the fatsest machine in the network, decoding done there and then the stuff just goes by lan to another machine for cutiing, merging, burning, etc.

And what about frameserving with VirtualDub and encoding in another machine in a lan? The machine with Virtualdub could process filters and other stuffs and the other hte TMPEnc stuffs? Is it going to improve performance?
