  1. Please help!! I am trying to make a MPEG2 file with LSX-MPEG Encoder 3.5 in MPEG 2 SVCD NTSC profile, but getting an error message
"Encoder failed to decompress AVI video stream. Possible reason: Can not find appropreate video codec. AVI file may be corrupted or use unsupported video compression format. Please select valid input AVI file"
The avi file has been edited in Adobe Premiere 6 and has been captured with digital mini DV camcorder. Thanks in advance

  2. Sounds to me that you have to decompress it first !
in Virtual Dub, Version 1_4_8 or 1_4_9.
    1. Go to File (Open video file) load your Avi file.
2.Go to Video. (Mark, Direct Stream Copy)
3Go to Audio. (Mark, Full Processing Mode)
4.Go back to File (Save as Avi) rename the file or it will erase the original file, hope this works out for ya ........ :D

"Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'dvsd' (unknown).Virtual Dub requires a video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable."
