  1. Good evening all,

I am looking for some assistence with converting a MPEG2(SVCD) to an MPEG1(VCD). I have been looking around the forum and have tried many methods but all I have been able to achieve is costers .

I have successfully been able to create excellent SVCD's using DVD2SVCD, buy I have recently bought myself a second hand Panasonic SL-VP55 VCD player that I would like to us einmy car, unfortunatly the VCD player is a little old and only plays MPEG1. Incidently if anyone knows how to upgrade the firmware on that model of VCD player it would be appreciated greatly.

Anyway, Is it possible to convert to MPEG1 using TMPG?

Ps. I have found the VCDHELP site very useful and have referred it to many people. (even on my work [government] discussion group).

  2. try fooling the dvd player by adding a vcd header to ure svcd. use tmpeg to do this:

    1. go to file/mpeg tool
    2. select 'simple multiplex'
    3. select type 'MPEG-1 Video-CD'
    4. video input 'YOUR MPEG FILE'
    5. output 'DESTINATION FOR YOUR FINISHED FILE'
