    Hi,
I'm going to do a live show soon with video-projection backdrop on stage. As the music is electronica, I hope to run the needed playback drums and arrangements using audio directly from the video itself, playback on Mac + high quality USB soundcard + VLC/Videolan player.

Could anyone give me some advice for which video-format is best to use for playback with best audio quality, without loosing quality in compression?

Is it .AVI? .MOV? My budget doesnt allow to hire professional advice/consultant at the time being..

If your playback will be on a Mac, use Quicktime (*.MOV), period, I say. The only way VIDEO has anything to do with Audio Quality would be if you have a limited bitrate budget and wanted to maintain a specific V + A QoS.

If you want further help, would be better if you actually gave Model #s for each link in your playback chain (incl. software).

  3. What about ISO? Create a BD ISO and get the free download of Slysoft VCD to mount it, and VLC will play it.
