  1. Okay, I burned my first full length vcd. However, when I put the CD-RW into my dvd player sometimes it reads it and sometimes it doesn't. When it does read it, it takes forever to load! I also can't fast forward and when I skip to the next chapter it takes about five minutes. Any ideas as to what's wrong?

  3. I've already checked, it can play cd-rws. Most of the time it loads the cd alright but like I mentioned above it takes forever to to skip to the next track or chapter. I burned the VCD using VCDEasy set to VCD 2.0, however on my DVD player in the upper corner of my display it says VCD 1.1, do you think I should try burning my next VCD one VCD 1.1?

  5. The manual for my DVD player says it will not play cd-r and I've tried it like three or four times. It doesn't work, but it does read the cd-rws. Any thoughts?

  6. i find it strange that your DVD will not read Cd-R????
but it reads Cd-rw??...its normally the other way round.

Don't worry about the VcdEasy setting of 2.0 because I always have it set for that and it also comes up on the screen as 1.1

  7. Does anyone else have problems skipping to different tracks or chapters? Also, there's the fast forwarding problem...

  9. Okay, here's another problem I'm running into. BTW, I've got a Samsung DVD player. I created a VCD 2.0 with two files on it. Both clips are short 2-3 minute clips. Every time I play it on my DVD player it takes about half a minute + to load and when it starts to play it skips in about a 1:12 into the first track and I can't get it to start playing from the beginning no matter what I try. This is what I've done to burn the files.

    1. Used TMPgnc to convert to NTSCfilm format (I've tried just NTSC with the same results).

    2. Opened VCDEasy and clicked on "Add Files", I added the two .mpg files that I converted using TMPgnc.

    3. Clicked "Go", it created the CD with no errors that I could see.

    4. Put it in my DVD player and started to play it, ran into the problems I listed above. When it does play it plays perfectly smooth rate, audio is perfect, everything but it doesn't start from the beginning and I can't fast forward and it takes forever to skip to the next track.

Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong?

This could be cuased by the brand of media that you are using. A friend of mine has a Samsung DVD player and it is very picky as to the brand of media he can use, I think he has a choice of 2.

Check your player against the compatibility list to see if there are any suggestions as to which brand of media to use.

  11. You mean like what brand of CD-RW I use? Do you know whether your friend's vcds work perfectly on his DVD player using those brands of media?

Yes I mean CD RW. My friend can only use CD-R's, you can only use CD-RW's, without having to write both all the time I used the word media.

Before he determined which CD-R's to use he was having all sorts of problems, disks took ages to load (like you) and then would skip all over the place, or wouldn't even play at all. Once he found the right ones his DVD player played them perfectly.

My friend wasn't just limited to the brand of CD-R's he could use; it had to be a specific model from that brand. Out of the 100's of different types of CD-R's out there, he could only use 2.

Also his player will only accept standard VCD format, any deviation from the standard VCD format caused problems as well.

  13. I don't know what Samsung model you have, but as you can see from this list several of them will not accept SVCD
