  1. I just got my Panasonic x920 camcorder today with the 3D lens. I just recorded some 3D video with it, which records to AVCHD 3D, but I'm having problems playing it on my laptop with nVidia 3D Vision. I have PowerDVD 12, but it 'thinks' that it's 2D and it's just converting to 3D instead of playing it in native 3D. I downloaded the trial of PowerDVD 13 and it just looks 2D, even though it says is supports AVCHD 3D/Progressive. The only thing I've been able to play it in is a program called Stereoscopic Player, but it looks like it's only a 30 day trial (as of today, I only have 29 days left before it expires). I was looking for something free if I could.

    Anyone have any ideas?

If you want a free 3D player then you have to steal one. NOT kidding.

Arcsoft's Total Media Theater could probably play your file (it supports 3D fine) but it's not free. I say "probably" only because I don't have any AVCHD 3D files to test it with. But I've been able to use it to play a few side by side clips on my PC. Stereoscopic Player is the cheapest option I know of.

There is nothing free in the area of AVCHD 3D that plays it correctly & simply and is free. Why? Because this isn't something simple that can be easily emulated or reverse-engineered. It's complicated stuff that has proprietary IP involved, and that IS WORTH SOMETHING.

Your choices are small: Cyberlink PDVD, Corel WinDVD, Arcsoft TMT, 3dtv's Stereoscopic Player, all using latest or very recent versions and ones that support nVidia 3Dvision. All cost something.
Oh yeah, you could also buy a 3DBD settop player that supports AVCHD 2.0 (3D & 60p)...
