    Hi

Bit of a minefield when it comes to converting AVI to MP4 and get a compliant version which will play in standalone bluray players ( Disk and/or USB pen )

I have tried a number od programs and the best so far is WINX free AVI to MP4 converter. However although I can get the video to play in my SONY BDS 185 Player, the screen is like the old 4.3 display. Cant get it t wide screen. Files `A`

If I play the files `A` through my media player, then everything is ok, but I want to put the files on a dvd and play on the bluray as a data disk.

I also have some other files `B` which play fine on both media player AND the bluray.....

I have used mediainfo to check the codecs etc and there are differences.

Is there a program to allow me to convert AVI to MP4 and allow me to enter the settings that are contained in the `B` files .

Cant think what else to do.

    Thanks

Nope. It could be anything from a complex h264 video setting to a simple mp4 multiplexing header setting.

Maybe does an avi divx/xvid work better than mp4. I use xvid4psp 5 for that and use the avi standalone preset.

Bought winx hd video converter deluxe.

    I use the settings 1280X720 bitrate 1200 and audio 128 48000....

The only issue i have is it doesnt display full screen or 16.9 it has a 4.3 screen ( or so it looks like ) plays ok with my media player same tv ) but the sont bluray is being a pain.

Will try the program you suggested, unless you have any more ideas what might be wrong

    Thanks

Do you have the player and/or the TV set up correctly - the player outputting to a widescreen TV and the TV setting for 'wide' or whatever it's called on your TV?
