i have been ripping using smartripper, dvd2avi and tmpgenc. is it possible for tmpgenc to encode to 2 files, i.e. disc 1 and disc 2 like dvdx does? preferably with in overlap, if not is there a prog i can use to cut the file and create an overlap? i find dvdtool cuts well but cant find an option in that to create an overlap.
cheers mick

I dont know anything about overlap but for cutting go into settings, then hit the advanced tab, doublick click the first thing in the box which should be source range, first check it then double click it from there you should be able to do it

ok, i found that option but will it not just encode the parts between start frame and end frame? or does it continue to encode after set point and create another file?

under the file tab, there is an option for batch encoding....
so basically, you use the source range filter and enter in the beginning and end frames you want to encode (you need to figure that for yourself, including any overlap you want)
then, under the file tab, choose to save project file. now do this with part 2 or however many parts u want and save that as a project file. now goto batch encoding and load the project files in the order that you want tmpgenc to encode them....tmpgenc will encode all the project files you have included...
also, there's an automatic computer shutdown option when u use batch encoding, which i think is pretty nifty
