  1. hi first time here so where do you guys download your movies

  2. there are 4 main sources for that: mirc, news groups, gnuttella(lime wire, bearshare, new morpheus....), P2P(kazaa, grokster, kazaa lite). Alot of ppl will tell you mirc and news groups are the places movies go first usually. I find that p2p is the easiest way tho, u don't have the prob of having to deal with a news server that erases the messages every 2 days and so miss a potentially important file, or the trouble of having to go look at 50 fservers(mirc) b4 finding what your looking for. And gnutella, well it slows your system to a crawl so you can't do anything else... There is also ftp but you've got to know ppl or pay...

  3. Edonkey!

It's not the speediest in the world, but you can find practically anything on it, especially if you use the bot.

  4. is edonkey like mirc or like kazaa in other words is mirc a p2p or is it like mirc with a million servers?
    Thanks

    thor of minoc,

I personally "download" my movies from the local Blockbuster every Tuesday, when the new movies are being released
I then have the fun and pleasure of making my own "backups", while knowing the quality is living up to my standards

  6. It's p2p, but pretty much non-commercial. It's not the fastest in the world, but there's plenty of stuff you can *only* find on Edonkey.

And Jbrondum, what are you going to do when Blockbuster calls you up since their copy of the "Fast and the Furious" broke, wanting your backup so's they can rent it out?

  7. HA HA HA!!! backups for Blockbuster...HA HA HA.....that might be a good idea, just tell them that if a customer wants a movie that someone else has rented then they can come over to your house for it.....i know of a few movie stores around here that NEEEEED that service....

    revjake,

I would tell them to get their own damn "backup"
...and if they wanna know more, I'll just pledge the 5th; like everybody does here in America when they get in trouble
