Hi there.
Im wondering if somebody can please advise me on something.
I am having an issue exporting h.264 from Premiere Pro CS5. I have been searching online for an answer but couldn't find one.
I export h.264 from the drop down dialogue and this is all fine. The exported file plays fine. The quality is fine, and when I check the properties of the file using (CMD+i) It shows up as h.264.
However when I check the movie properties in Quicktime player 'movie inspector' it shows up as 'AVC Coding' and not 'H.264'
I never even realised this was happening until a client wanted to re-encode the files I sent over in MPEG streamclip and couldn't as it would deliver up an error message.
Its really weird as the file plays fine in any player.
A work around I found is to export the file from Premiere as a PRO RES then re encode as h.264 in MPEG Streamclip but this means I have to encode everything twice..
I have attached a screen grab of my export settings from Premiere. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!
PS I am running on a MAC BOOK PRO, i7,8GB ram, OSX 10.6.8
thanks!

Thanks Aedipus!
I am just wondering why MPEG streamclip still wont let me re-encode the file though even though with other h.264 files it does allow me to re-encode. thanks! -
Not sure if it's a level thing...according to your screenshot the encoding level is set to 4.2. Try setting it to 4.1. Maybe this could help.

Tried to reproduce your problem by creating a file on a PC with Premiere CC that matched your specs. Absolutely no problems -- sorry not much help there.
However, check your pixel aspect ratio. Unless your project is cinemascope it should be 1:1 square. Also check your audio settings, that could be hanging up MpegStreamclip. -
I use PP5.0.3, but because of severe quality and compatibility issues about encoded files I do not use the built-in AME/MainConcept. To create bonafide h264 files (mainly for blu-ray authoring with Encore) I export with Debugmode, then load the signpost with Avisynth to a x264 GUI (prefer Simple x264 launcher). I just don't know if any of that can be done on a Mac.
For the nth time, with the possible exception of certain Intel processors, I don't have/ever owned anything whose name starts with "i".
