    How to author such DVD?

I want to make a DVD Video with 5.1 audio (DTS) and no video, only a still image displayed while audio is being played.

Which tools? How to do it?

    Thanks for your help.

    Cheers

DTS only audio is not valid for DVD. The specifications state that if you have DTS audio that you must also have at least one track that AC3 or PCM. This doesn't mean that you can't make such a DVD, but you need to have an authoring program that won't enforce the standards. Most hardware DVD players will probably play such a DVD, but there is always a chance when you make a non-standard DVD that a hardware player may not play it.

It is possible to encode a still image with AviSynth to the desired length of your audio and use that on your DVD. Are you familiar with using AviSynth? You can use the ImageSource filter to do this. Other people may have other suggestions that might be easer for you.

Open your DVD compliant (720x576 for PAL) BMP image in Muxman, add in the audio, and create your DVD.

    Thanks for the answers.
    Looks quite easy with muxman.

DVDLab Pro 2.xx has 'Audio-only Title' option with individual still images for each chapter.

I've played around with muxman and it does the trick with a BMP image and a DTS track.

BUT if I put chapters by importing a cell times text file in muxman then the duration of the DVD is reduced to the first chapter.

Seems to me this is due to the video being just a still image and therefore having no duration (less then a sec)

How to overcome this? Can I have a video in the DVD that is several minutes long from an image?

The other thing is I can't demux with PgcDemux. I guess this is again related to video having zero duration.

    Thanks for your help

Your original question said nothing about creating chapters. Perhaps take Alex_ander's suggestion from earlier in the thread. Or create them using VobBlanker after the DVD has been created (never tried it, though).

That's odd. Maybe try DGIndex. Open the VOB and then go File->Save Project and Demux Video.
