You don't ask much, do you?

What do you mean by "smaller file size"? A lot of noobs here expect to get a 700 Mb file (or even smaller) with no quality loss from a dvd or br. Not gonna happen, but they get snippy if you try to tell them that. Kids.

What are you ripping and encoding? It's a lot easier to get good results from a br than a dvd. It's much more fine grained to begin with.

Have you tried reading any of the guides elsewhere on this site?

The h.264 codec is the best one re. quality v. file size at the moment. But it can get pretty complex, in ways not hinted at by what you posted from mediainfo.

There are a number of good h.264 encoders. A lot of the good ones recommended here are fine for real video geeks (I'm fair to middling there) but not really suitable for noobs. They dump you straight into all the encoding options. They are excellent but they're complicated.

I'd suggest handbrake (or vidcoder, which is the same thing with a different interface) if you don't know what any of that stuff means. It has the best power/ease of use factor of any encoder I've seen.

Use constant quality mode, high profile, enable 8x8 DCT in the advanced options page. You cannot get good quality without the last 2 items. From there try advanced stuff.

Read the handbrake docs. They're excellent. Also the avidemux wikis. Don't expect serious video geeks to explain everything to you.
