I have a 8 mm HDV Sony camcorder with 4 pins firewire and bad luck trying to capture hd to my laptop. everything works fine if a video not an HD. I blame my 6 year old laptop. I have an option if installing a Firewire card into my new desktop.
My question Will I benefit from 800 MB/sec or even if I can have it and an adapter or I will be fine with 400?.
Thanks
