Hi.
I've been tasked to upgrad a video system for my work that is gonna record 3 cameras at one time.
They are all at different angels but aiming for the same spot.

There is a semi-working system up and running now, so would be nice to reuse most of the hardware from that setup.

What we have on our current setup is gopro hd hero2 where we use the hdmi output on the camera.
The hdmi is connected to blackmagic heavy duty mini converter hdmi-to-sdi.
The sdi is then connected to a blackmagic decklink quad card in a fully upgraded macpro (12 core)
On this mac we use softron movie recorder to record.
We also have a monitor with a custom time delay of the recorded video from one of the cameras.

The task i've been given is to find new cameras that can manage the lenght of how long they need to be powered on (24/7) because they will be mounted in inaccessable places. So they also have to not auto shut off or reset settings for AF and stuff like that if they shut down. They basicly just have to stay on, have a wide angle lens like the gopro and output the video through the hdmi. The dumber the camera the better i supose.

Then there is the software recording issue. We get filesizes that are to big now. Way to big.
8gb for 30min of recording per camera, because i can't get a proper codec to work in the current software.
Would be great to get 30min of 720p recording down to 2-3gb so we can copy atleast one of the camera angles on to a usb stick and give to the costumer that hss been filmed.

Any help is highly appriciated.

Kind regards
Rune
