Finding the menus in VOB?

I remember reading somewhere that all the menus, chapters, menu music and little extras like that are in the vobs. I have tried going through every forum trying to figure out how to get them but to no success (yes, I am a newbie).

I have been trying to 'extract' these files but am having some difficulty. Could someone please explain how I can extract them to use on my (S)VCD's. Thank you so much.

The process is actually pretty simple (cut menu from dvd, re-encode it, and then stick it in the SVCD), but it requires alot of handwork to do properly. Anyway, if you want to hold on that question until the guide is finished (probably sometime next week) it should help you out.

Excellent. I am amazed at how easy it is to 'backup' a dvd. All the great tutorials are fantastic, especially for a newbie like myself. I have done about 10 so far and with no problems.
