I'm looking to burn some large files to BD disks, larger than 10gb.
Is there any more risk in losing all the data by writing vary large files to BD disk?
In the past with CDs and DVDs it seems to be mostly all or nothing in reading a disk or file.
Would there be any benefit in creating multi-part archives, say 100MB each?
Or do you have the same chance of data recovery of one large file vs 500 smaller files(assuming sector level recovery)?

Just use ImgBurn and set it to "verify" between the original data and what is on the disc. "In the past" it was the best way to make sure the data is there and valid, and it still is that way today.
Whether the data gets corrupted over time is up for debate, but nobody here can provide a 100% guaranteed method of storage.
