i'm a newbie to both the forum and the subject. i will appreciate any gentle advice, corrections and guidance any soul will kindly offer.

i'm trying to convert a movie that MediaInfo tells me is m2ts, avc video codec, ac-3 audio codec since my blue-ray player does not read m2ts files. it does read mkv so i'm trying to convert to mkv using Avidemux and selecting MPEG-4 AVC from the video dropdown and everything one by one from the audio dropdown. the preview has a very bad audio flutter, if that's the term. the video looks very good. the source is good since it plays well from a dvd disc on a ps3 and from a file played by vlc on a computer.

    any suggestions, please?

Try "remux" with mkvmergegui instead, open m2ts and make a new mkv.

I haven't had this issue myself, but have you tried "build vbr time map" (Audio menu) before you convert?

i posted this problem a long time ago in a galaxy far far away so i don't remember well, but i think i solved my problem simply by using handbrake instead of avidemux.
