    Hi.

I created an AVCHD using MultiAVCHD, meant for playback on the PS3. I used a dual-audio HD .mkv file for input. So I created a menu, selected subtitles, and created an AVCHD. So, I burned it onto a DVD-R.

Problem is, the PS3 has some trouble playing it. The menu works fine, but past that, the movie plays with a lot of flickering. I can't explain quite well, so I recorded a video:

I even burned some other DVDs at 2,4x, 4x, and 8x, to check if that was the problem. The DVD supports up to x16 and my burner up to x8. They all work on the computer, if I use a Blu-Ray software.

Can you help me please? I really don't know what to do, I just want to burn this HD video to a DVD with menus.

    What's your source?

    You can also try avchdcoder.

Yes, just mkv doesn't say much. Post the details from the mkv using mediainfo.

Also, does AVCHDCoder support custom menus? I already created the menus using MultiAVCHD, so maybe I could copy the menus files if it doesn't?

    And thanks for your help.

Post a clip of the output file that show's the problem. If it's less than 30MB, upload it here - or if it's bigger,
use your favorite hosting site (eg. mediafire.com)

The output are a bunch of files, because it's the Blu-Ray/AVCHD file structure.

If you mean the movie itself, it's a 00000.m2ts file. Don't know how to cut it to post here, the software I find is just for other file types, not m2ts.

Oh, and it plays well on the PS3 if I play that file directly.

Here's the mediainfo output from that file:

The first thing I noticed about the mediainfo file above is that it does not mention "frame rate" so at first glance, there
seems to be a problem. Perhaps somebody else will chime in with more.

Have you ever created a successful AVCHD using this process?

I suspect something is going wrong in MultiAvchd. Have you looked at some of the guides for some clues?
    Here is one:

Just checked the guide, have all the tools, checking the transcoding option, but I have no idea what to do. Here are the current settings:

Are these fine, or do I have to change something? Again, have NO idea what I'm doing. I just want an AVCHD (highest quality possible) with menus that fits in a DVD-5 or DVD-9 (the original mkv file has ~800MB, so I think that DVD-5 is enough, wich is what I have been using).

What can I do? Thanks for the help.

Yes, it was the bitrate. Changed it to the DVD-5 bitrate, worked.

Going to try BD25 bitrate now, since the size is always a lot smaller, maybe I can fit in on a DVD-5 or DVD-9.

    Thanks for all the help.
