Wow he's 58.
It says he won't be done with movies just not doing all the stunts.
I liked the Rush Hour movies and have them on dvd. I thinks a good actor/action guy.
I also have Shanghai Noon and Knights on dvd. I've only seen Noon all the way through. I started Knights but never got around to finishing it.
I'm glad he's not quitting movies outright.

Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

You should see Forbidden Kingdom
Jackie and Jet -
Is that a dubbed movie or a US release? I'm not opposed to watching an import. However the styles tend to be quite different.
I had tried watching Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon once but just couldn't get into it.
I do appreciate the differences but sometimes it takes more than a gimmick to get involved in a film from another culture.
I do watch anime on occasion but that is a whole different world.
Actually the differences are sometimes a good thing and worthy of a change of pace.
Edit - Oh I'm gonna guess you've probably seen Lethal Weapon 4 with Jet Li right? Granted it wasn't all about him but it gave the Lethal Weapon movies a different spin (pun sort of intended).
Edit - I watched a trailer for forbidden kingdom. Looks to be a hollywood produced movie.
I'll check it out sometime. Thanks.Last edited by yoda313; 22nd May 2012 at 07:38.

Nope can't say that I have.
I confess I'm not really a kungfu/ninja fan. As in I don't specifically go to see those types of movies on their own accord. Now something like the Matrix that will reference it and utilize of course I'm interested in. But pure action/kickboxing stuff not really.
Actually I just picked up the Karate Kid (the original one from the 80's) on vhs in a garage sale. I checked it out of the local library on dvd the other week but returned it when it was due and hadn't gotten around to watching it. Now that I have on tape I'm gonna try to finally sit down and watch it. (eventually that is)
What was that one with Van Damme from the 80s that was a biggie like Karate Kid? Bloodsport or something? I may eventually try to look that one up too to fill in my unseen big time action movies I've never seen.
Come to think of it I've never seen a dirty hairy or Death Wish movie either.....
Edit - though I did finally see most if not all of that Bruce Lee movie with Chuck Norris in it. Enter the Dragon I think. It was on G4 the other weekend. It was actually a lot better than I thought it would be.
I can't remember for sure but was Chuck dubbed in it? Or come to think of it did have any speaking lines in it at all? I don't know if he knows Japanese or Chinese does he?Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
when i was a kid my brother and i would spend all our saturday afternoons watching the kung fu movies on channel 5 (here in nj, before it became fox), we used to love that horrible acting, over the top strain any sense of credibility exaggerated fight scenes and badly dubbed dialogue.
come to think of it, every once in a while i like taking a trip down memory lane, maybe i might pick up "the kid with the golden arm". -

I think that was when the fox station became UPN for that short time UPN was around. Now it is that CW nonsense. Or is it that other uhf station? I can't remember as I almost never watch those channels anymore.
Though I guess technically uhf and vhf are extinct now aren't they? The channel numbers that use the original station numbers are now just virtual numbers right? So I guess only the "essence" of uhf and vhf are left now......

I just finished it. It is a good movie.
I watched it over two days and I just finished the second half.
It was kind of a Crouching Tiger meets Lord of the Rings movie crossover. I liked it.
There were definitely a few over-the-top moments but overall it was very enjoyable. Thanks for the suggetion Stiltman.
For a Jackie Chan fest I've got Rumble in the Bronx on vhs from a garage sale that I'll try to get too. When I return Kingdom to the local library I'll see if they have drunken master but I'm gonna guess they don't - its probably on vudu or amazon instant video.
If anyone has more Jackie Chan suggestions I'll be open to em. I may not get to them right away but I'll try. I do have all 3 Rush Hour movies (which I have finished and like) and Shanghai Noon and Knights but i haven't gotten to finishing Knights yet.Donatello - The Shredder?
