I'm currently trying to upgrade my companies surveillance system with a new computer and "New" capture cards. I'm having trouble finding the drivers for my capture cards. No I don't have the driver disk, I thought I did but the cards are capturing any video. The only information I have about the cards is that the box I was given says they are a "Power Watch". The only identifying marks or numbers on the box/card is NW120F04 on the box and HW-120F Rev 1.0 on the card. The cards are using Conexant 878 chipset. The cards are 16 channels through a parallel dongle and daughter card. Please help me identify this card and a source for working drivers, or at least some kind of information on this card. Much appreciated and many thanks in advance. I'll try and source a picture to upload, I don't think there's a digital camera any place near me at the moment.

The card should have a FCC ID number on it. I use that often with unknown cards.
You can look up the number at: http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid/help.html
Other than that, a photo may help.
And welcome to our forums. -
I'll have to get a camera and post some pictures. I don't know why I didn't think about the FCC number. Curious though, I'm not seeing one...
Thank you for the welcome! -
The FCC ID isn't required to be used, but very helpful if you can find it. That may just be a generic import made by a small manufacturer, so it may not be easy to find the proper software. One place to look to see if there is a similar card: http://www.globalsources.com/gsol/I/Video-capture-manufacturers/b/2000000003844/300000...1737/16745.htm Some of those manufacturers sell to retailers that rebrand the cards with their own name.
Advantec also makes a 16CH card using the Conexant 878A chipset: http://www.advantech.com/products/16-Channels-PCI-bus-Video-Capture-Card/mod_1-2JKF5K.aspx
But there are a lot of manufacturers out there. -
Why not pull the drivers off the old system harddrive your chances of finding some one with that card is going be very slim from what I can tell on that board it look kind of old I guesting that manufacturer may no longer be a round.

I know it's a long shot at identifying these cards. I can't pull the drivers off the old system because they've never been put into production. There is no old system. I'm building a replacement system and these cards were bought a couple years ago with this purpose in mind, except it was never done. I'm starting to price out new capture cards. Suggestions? I need 16 channels with DirectShow capability. Or perhaps pointing me to an online retailer so that I can shop around. I've been looking at what Tigerdirect has and they only have one 16 channel card. I'm also limited to purchasing from a seller that takes Purchase Orders. Thanks for all your help guys!

I deal with this company quite a lot. They do have some DVR cards: http://www.supercircuits.com/Recorders/Capture-Cards/ Most sites have gone to self-contained DVRs. You can mount several in a rack. With H.264 compression and improved motion detection, there have been a lot of changes in the last couple of years with DVRs.

I would look at MPEG4 hardware-compression solution
AverMedia 7000H, Geovision GV2008
If don't mind leaning linux then take look at below card this it come Fedora 7.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16881801003
Other then that most of them are all pettey about the same.
