Been digitising a lot of VHS tapes ... S-VHS deck via ADVC-300 into WinDV, initially saving as avi files.
Later to be edited with Vegas and DVD cut.
When I started this I bought Dix X pro to get the 6.9.2 avi codec, and have been using VirtualDub to correct colour, chroma noise etc.
Is this codec still the right one to use for avi ?

No. If you're going to edit in Vegas, stick with a DV-AVI codec, preferably Cedocida DV codec.
