  1. hi! the whole world of DivX, Video CD's etc. is new for me. yesterday, I made my first SVCD with succes. Since this SVCD didn;t contain chapters, it was difficult to go to a particulair scene in the mid of the film. Today, I experimented something with chapters and menu's, and it worked quite well. The only problem was, that between two chapters the screen freezes, there is no smooth changing between both chapters. Did I do something wrong, or is it just my standalone DVD player ( a Pioneer DV-525, regio code 2).
I created the chapters by splitting the mpeg movie in different mpeg movies, and put them in the SVCD.
I have made my SVCD with Nero burning.
I have also tried make chapters without a menu, but still no smooth changing...

    can anyone help me???

  2. Chapters made by splitting mpegs will never play seamlessly on SVCD. Those aren't real chapters, sounds like you used Nero or something to image and burn. If you're looking for chapters to work like they do on DVDs, you really want to create entrypoints. That way you can press a number on the remote to jump to that chapter or press > to jump a chapter at a time. Use TSCV or VCDEasy to image your mpeg and set up chapters in there. You can import chapters from your .ifo but I usually just create chapters every 5 minutes, I can ff or rew in between to get to a particular scene. Check the tutorials for details. Word of warning if using XP and TSCV, it has been giving incorrect movie lengths at the chapters tab.
