Hello everyone. I have the following problem:

When I convert a HDTV .mkv video file to XVID .avi file (either 720p or 576p .avi) I have issues with sound. Audio seems to be perfect from the start till the middle of the movie but from the middle till the end audio starts to be out of sync progressively. By "progressively" I mean little delay in the middle of the movie which increases as the movie goes to the end.

Can anybody give me a solution to this problem?

P.S.: The movie is anime and I use megui in order to hardcode .ass subs. So if you are going to reccommend me a different video converter it must be one that can handle .ass subs.

    Thanks in advance.

    avidemux,

    1) open video with avidemux

    2) in the video sidebar, select xvid, configure your options (bitrate, etc)

    3) press filters => subtitles => ASS (heheh) for ASS/SSA subs, and configure your settings

    4) audio sidebar => leave as copy or mp3 or whatever, configure your settings

    5) format sidebar, select AVI

    6) press save, but you have to specify the location and filename with extension (e.g. "myfile.avi")
