  1. I have dl'd many .avi's and have encoded them. I recently downloaded a .bin file. I checked the site on this and it says to check the .cue file and to burn this. I do not see a .cue file. Do I need to extract the .cue file from the .bin file? If so, what do I use?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

  2. If you want to see what's inside the bin files, and you don't have the cue file, I suggest you get Isobuster, or check out www.daemon-tools.com Isobuster will let you extract the MPEG files inside the image. And Daemon Tools will let you use the bin as a virtual drive. I would also recommend CDMage (those i mentioned without link can be found by searching on Yahoo!), which let's you make a new cue file. Check them out, and get a bit familiar with them

  3. Forgot to tell you, to burn the bin/cue file, you can either use the latest version of Nero, CDRWin, or Fireburner. The mayority of the current burning programs support burning bin/cue files. You can burn the bin alone, but the .cue is necessary to tell the burning program how to exactly burn the .bin file.

  4. I burned the .bin with Nero, but the cd was empty. I read that I need to burrn the .cue file, which I will try to extract using the programs you named. Thanks for the info.

  5. If you're going to burn the .bin with Nero, make sure you select Mode 2 (I'm assuming it's a VCD or an SVCD). This will burn it the right way and show you the files, but it will not burn the movie correctly because VCD's and SVCD's use 2 tracks. In the first track lie the configuration files that will tell the player how to play the movie. But in the second track lies the movie file. This is where the .cue files comes in. The .cue files tells the program where each track lies on the .bin files, and the tracks will be arranged in the CD when burnt. That is why the .cue is so important (even though it's a quite simple text files).

  8. Assuming that it is really a BIN image of a S/VCD, you can regenerate the "CUE" file by using VCDImager...

Extract the BIN file with VCDXRIP and then immediate "rebuild" the VCD as a CUE/BIN image by using VCDXBUILD on the outputted XML file. Both these are command line tools but VCD Easy contains a GUI for both.

You can then correctly (and safely) burn the CUE/BIN image of the S/VCD (including any menus and PBC goodies inside).

  9. Virtualis -

Your process worked great. I used VCDEasy to re-create the bin/cue and successfully burned the movie.

    Thanks for your help!
