    Hi,
I tried to backup one movie to AVI, however it is a little bit complicated. First, I had to ask a friend to create a copy to HDD for me, because I was not able to backup it normal way. Ok, I got all the files, however, there is a problem with delay.

I am able to correctly play the separate VOB files using MPC HC, the same when loading the VIDEO_TS.IFO to MPC HC, but when loading to Avidemux, the audio is always shifted. I tried MediaInfo and found that each VOB file has different delay:

    Code:

    Complete name : \VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB

As I already had similar problem with shifted audio stream, I tried PGCDemux, but the result was also not correct - I got audio file:

    Code:
    General
    Complete name : AudioFile_81.ac3
    Format : AC-3

    File size : 165 MiB
    Duration : 2h 0mn
Overall bit rate : 192 Kbps

    Audio
    Format : AC-3
    Format/Info : Audio Coding 3
    Format profile : Dolby Digital
    Duration : 2h 0mn
    Bit rate mode : Constant
    Bit rate : 192 Kbps
    Channel(s) : 2 channels
    Channel positions : L R
    Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz
    Stream size : 165 MiB (100%)
Which looks OK, as the movie according to MPC HC has duration 02:00:04 (exactly 02:00:04:29 according PGCDemux). But I am also not able to combine the audio with the video as Avidemux says it is NTSC with 29.970 fps, duration 01:36:09.369 - although the movie is complete. I tried some experiments with custom FPS settings but I am not able to set it exactly correct.

    any advices?

    thanks

Since you don't know what you're doing, use AutoGK. Much easier. Either load the first VOB and the rest get loaded automatically, or if you need subtitles load the IFO.

It's 23.976fps with pulldown to output interlaced 29.97fps. Probably.

I don't use AviDemux for these things, but there must be a way to load all the VOBs at once. If not, don't use it. Either that or join all the VOBs together using VOB2MPEG and then load the result into AVIDemux. No subtitles that way, though.

    thanks,
I will try VOB2MPG first as I am already familiar with Avidemux. I also read some other thread here and found DVDx 4.0 which also looks good. OK, we will see
