Hi
I just bought a firewire card to transfer data from my Sony TRV110E (Digital 8 PAL Version) using Adobe premiere. I have got a XP 1700 with 512MB of RAM machine. I have quite a number of tapes which I need to convert so that I can free up the tapes for future shooting. I intend to convert those tapes to DVD later. However that will be a few months later as I am waiting for the price of DVD RW to go down further.
My questions is after transferring the tape to raw AVI format using Adobe, which format (MPEG1 or MPEG2) should I compress to for good quality when convert to DVD later? I will burned the final MPEG files to CD and store it till I got the DVD RW. What should be the setting on the Tmpegenc
My other questions is
1) Can I convert to SVCD and later to DVD? Will there be a quality lost?
2) Does 1 hour of camcorder captured equals to 1 hour SVCD and what about DVD?
3) Can MPEG1 be converted to MPEG2 or vice versa?
Apprecaite for the help.
