    Hi, New noob to these forums and a nub when it comes to video stuff but i try my best, i have captured my digital8 tapes to pc, edited and added transitions ect all using sony vegas pro 9, my question is.......... what do i render at ? ive done a trial using the PAL DV widescreen option but on playback in power dvd it is'nt full screen ( has like a black border all way round it ), i want to be able to convert this to dvd and watch on tv............. thx in advance.

    Keep it in the format of the original files. In other words, if it was recorder 4:3 (full screen), then keep it 4:3.

    Thx for the reply Krispy, as said before i have no clue to what all these abbreviations mean , im using a sony handycan , link.......

    I dont know what the original format is but there is an option to change it to 16:9 widescreen on the camara itself, i have rendered then converted to dvd but im getting a black bar down each side of my LCD tv and in power dvd on pc, this is what i want rid of.

    So im guessing i have to render at some sort of setting in order to lose the black bars but i dont know which setting, these are half hour vids/movie im trying to make from holidays, i did try saving the files as NTSC widescreen but that turned out to be huge.... 65 gig !!

    I need to know ( using sony vegas pro 9 ) which settings to use to get a good quality vid at full screen.
