Hi, I'm new here. I saw that some others have discussed super 8 here too, even though it doesn't fall under the "video" heading so I'll give it a try.
My mum came across a lot of old super 8 and slide equipment very cheap, including a beautiful Eumig 607D projector. The previous owner had died and the daughter wanted to clear out her father's house. I've been shooting super 8 for the past 6 months but didn't own a projector (rented one before) so my mum gave the lot to me as a present.
The problem is though that the daughter couldn't find the power cord for the Eumig projector. Since I'm currently based in Ireland and my mum lives in Sweden I can't have a look at it myself right now, but she described to me that it's a three pin socket.
I've been trying to google info on this to no avail, and there's nothing on e-bay. Do any of you know if there's a universal type of cable that can be obtained for this projector or is it something rare and unique only to the Eumig range? If I don't get hold of a power cord I'll never be able to use the projector which would be such a shame!
I read somewhere that some super 8 projectors work with some type of computer cord. Would this be an option?
Thank you!!
ANY help would be appreciated.

offhand, it sounds like it may use a standard computer power cord
try downloading the manual to see if there's a pic
regardless, you should be able to find something -
Its a fairly unusual "P8" cord, it may have been common in some countries decades ago but today is not easily found (most everything made in the last 15-20 years uses a standard computer/fax power cord or slim flat "Sony Playstation" type of plug). Many 8mm hobbyists run into this problem with older high-quality projectors. The most common solution seems to be removal of the old non-standard socket from the projector, replacing it with a modern computer-type power socket. This isn't very hard to do, if you have some familiarity with basic wiring. If you don't, any electronics or computer repair shop should be able to modify the projector for you inexpensively.
Depending on the exact age of this particular Eumig 607D, it may have already been mfr'd with the more standard power socket. Wait until you receive it from your mother, you might be able to use an ordinary cord. Though I think it unlikely. -
If it is the P8 cord then check out ebay as there are a few on sale there for up to £5
