  1. Friends i am useing handbrake to backup/convert my dvd files (vob) to MKV so directly i play it on my LG LEDtv via USB.

    so here i have 2 quarry

    1> Wat settings should i keep (constant quality as by the above pic) RF20 to15 or less then that.... do it really inc the quality as by default its on 20 and i change some time to 15 but i find rarelly any difference in the output.

    and

    2> when useng H.264 do i use 2 pass method...as its take lot of time :/ .. will it effect in the quality and what size it will be as i dont need more then 2gb output

  2. Use 2-pass mode when you need a specific file size (bitrate). Like when you need to fit a 2 hour movie on a 700 MB CD. You will get the best quality for that file size. Use constant quality encoding when you want to be assured of a specific quality and don't care about the file size.

    If you encode a video at constant quality of 20 and it turns out with an average bitrate of 1000 kbps, then go and make a 2-pass encoding at 1000 kbps, the two videos will look nearly identical.

  3. hmm thatz means hardly any diff will come if i used 2pass or constant quality with same bitrate !

    btw do u know any other tool like handbrake which can convert vob files to mKV

  5. so much of settings is there in that ripbot plus wherz mp3 or other audio settings in it.. az compare to handbrake

    i have converted 5 min vid (a test video) size hardly 1 mb diff..
    speed-- handbrake was little faster then ripbot...
    quality-- damm no diff
