  1. I really want to know something, first of all i use gordianknot to encode all my (DvD's) movies to xvid.
As usual i use two passes encoding. i know after 1st pass the stat file is saved and by using this stat file, 2nd pass is done
finally we get the compressed video file.

But i have power cut problem in my area, so my computer is off while encoding, many times the power is gone while running 2nd pass, so i was wondering if i could again start the encoding from 2nd pass after turning on my computer, is there any way to start the xvid encoding from 2nd pass(directly running 2nd pass), it would save a lot of time.

To start from the starting again it would take a lot of time, normally its taking 2 hours for 1st pass and nearly same for 2nd pass, just tell me is there any way to load the stat file again from the first pass and continue my 2nd pass encoding when ever i want, is there any way like that ?

please help? and i am not any professional in all this stuff,i am still learning pls answer if any one can help.

  2. Doesn't GordianKnot use Virtualdub to do it's encoding? You could start VirtualDub manually and perform only the second pass.

If your power outages are short you could use a UPS.
